The activities we did today:
1) Cleared overgrowth that had grown up around a fence. St. Lawrence Place had troubles over the past year with individuals sneaking through this fence and bringing about unwanted situations in their community. They are eventually going to put in a new, stronger fence. They estimated that the work we did saved them $800 -$1000!!!
2) Moved furniture from one residence to another.
3) Scrubbed and cleaned a laundry room.
“The unique opportunity presented to a law student while they are studying and learning about the law is to be able to participate in something like the Pro Bono program and possibly use those skills to some degree to help others in the community.” - Cole Portney 1L
“I’ve always been a strong promoter of community service, but I didn’t connect it with law school at all up until this point.” Cheslyne Brighthop 1L

Thank you on behalf of the staff and residents at St. Lawrence Place for all of your hard work! Is there any way I can get some pictures of the SLP group sent to me so I can post them on our website/Facebook page?
ReplyDeleteMy e-mail is bsmith@stlawrenceplace.org
Thanks, Becca
Absolutely. There is an application on the left column of the blog that will take you to all the photos that were taken during the day. Just click through to the flickr site. The pictures from St. Lawrence Place have those words in their title.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
